there are a lot of players that are great its really tough to just pick 9.
i cant argue with any of the 9 in your line up, dont like your pick for 2B but he is a great player

Prince Fielder hit a homerun at the Skydome I think when he was about 14 years old, when his father played for the Jays.

I watched him enough and I think he is deserving of his MVP trophy...Second Base is what I play and I love anyone defensive, especially O-Dawg(Orlando Hudson) but he can't hit to save his life.

he is good, just not a REd Sox fan. Hudson was great but blew at hitting, Jays had the same thing with Homer Bush. was a flash on the base paths but barely could buy a hit

The Jays are going to be even worse this year which makes me just sad...I really want them to do well but I guess I will have to root for the Cubs.

love reading the pre season stories about how good they will be and what the strong parts for the team will be for the upcoming year.

if they say the hitting will be a strength they end up not being able to hit a beach ball all year, always the opposite for what they figure

It's the Toronto Media...It's the same old story, The Raptors we're supposed to be a contender, The leafs who are over-achieving at the moment are god sent...I hate the media, just so pro-Toronto it makes me sick.

It is the league I get the most exposure to, I must say that I don't really prefer one league to the other. I love the strategy that goes with the NL that the AL lacks, I find the AL is purely hitting, less defensive, while the NL relies on more strategy. I am just mad at baseball in general right now, the whole Yankees situation with the spending, the impossible climb for the Blue Jays to ever win their division...I'm just tired with things but it IS my love...Too bad...

when they realign the division and move boston and NY out and move in 2 teams that are shittier than the jays, and even then they will end up 3rd

Toronto could win a few of the divisions in the league, I am telling you now that MLB needs to seriously think about a Salary Cap...It just doesn't make sense that every other league has one in North America.

nope, you are thinking of tiger stadium. if he would've hit a homer when cecil played for the jays he would have been four at the most. even though at four years old he was probably bigger than most mlb players i dont think he could hit any dingers:D

as for my lineup...

P-Johan Santana
C-Joe Mauer
1B-Albert Pujols
2B-Chase Utley
3B-Evan Longoria
SS- Hanley Ramirez
OF- Ryan Braun
Of- Miguel Cabrera
OF- Carlos Beltran

Is there a reason almost nobody has any Yankees on their squads even though they have the most expensive players money can buy?

we could post our teams from certain periods of time, the 90's the 80's and all time , just plain favs, or who we think is the best or something to that. may take research but could be interesting also.

Good idea, Ill spend time on that. I used to love baseball but I just cannot get into it anymore. These are my favorites players from when I was growing up:

P-Pedro (lights out. the Big Unit is a close second)
C-Pudge (slightly edges out Javy Lopez)
1B-Frank Thomas (beast of a man)
2B-Roberto Alomar (thing of beauty watching him out there. watch out for the spitting)
3B- Chipper Jones
SS- Cal Ripken (Mr. Baseball as far as Im concerned)
OF- Tony Gywnn
OF- Ken Griffey Jr. (sweetest swing I ever saw)
OF- Barry Bonds (hate him but hes a beast- HR record one year, batting title the next)
CL- Mitch Williams (if only for being crazy)

is there any yankees you'd put over the guys i listed? i guess sabathia would be a solid choice but i think santana is just as good right now and given their physiques i'd say santana will have a longer and more productive career. and even though a-rod might be the best player for 4 or 5 months i still wouldnt want that d-bag on my team

Arod, Jeter......and then after that they def have quality guys. Not going for harmony but talent. Then there are the Glue guys like Posada and Damon.

Then you take the guys like Giambi (gone now) and Matsui and Joba away from the pressure of NY and they are probably a couple of steps up just in perception.

jeter over hanley ramirez? *makes wanking motion*

and a-rod may be the most talented player in baseball and away from the new york pressure he would probably be the most dominant player in baseball but i just plain dont like the guy so i'll stick with longoria:D
