Hillbilly's or Rednecks if you prefer, gotta love 'em

"West Virginia is considering a bill to teach schoolchildren how to handle a gun and hunt safely its proponent hopes will increase state revenues from hunting licenses, a state lawmaker said Thursday....Children 10 years and older can already apply for a hunting license in West Virginia, which makes 1.5 billion dollars a year from hunting-related activities, the senator said."

I would rather them teach gun safety than take guns away

I agree with that... the only people that will have the guns taken away are the common...semi-law abiding citizens

Kinda like sex ed. - better they at least know how to safely handle a gun than have someone hurt simply through ignorance of safety.
My daughter never professed any interest in firearms, but I made sure she at least knew the basics of safe gun handling on the off chance she and her friends ever found one on the street or something.

I also stressed the importance of bringing said gun home to daddy :p

I personally don't care for guns because I think they're dangerous in the hands of morons, but just about everything can be dangerous if someone is dumb enough. I do agree with the above posters in teaching it kinda like sex ed. Hopefully kids will be smarter if ever put in that situation.
