I get obsessed and keep checking to see if it's up, even if I don't have anything to post. I only relax when the site pops back up.

I kick my cat until the site comes back up. Seeing the cat fly across the room always cheers me up... not quite as good as obsessing over the site but close :)

it's even worse when DSF is down at the same time that i realize my database server died, so two years' worth of posts on my site are suddenly gone.

I always wonder if Big Brother has finally killed my fun. But alas, I keep hitting refresh, and I see it, but then it is gone.

Gee, funny how all the same people are posting how depressed and sad it is.

I am good friends with the head of IT, and he says the firm can't afford to waste space monerting internet traffic. And, I think he peeks into what people are looking at and saving for his own fun.

While I am sad when DSF is down and I compulsively hit refresh, I'd rather have to be sad it is down compared to my other forum I visit regularly. Mainly because there, people IM, e-mail or even CALL me to see if I know what is happening with it. While I don't mine any of that, I am only a lowly mod and not an admin nor do I know where the server is housed so I can't answer that. All I can do there is IM, e-mail, or call the admins and comiserate with the other members. Here...compulsive checking to see if it is back is enough.
