The Africa Cup of Nations is on at the moment (a football soccer tournament). Angola are playing Mali. Angola are 4-0 up with 15 minutes to go. Some tool bet 4,400 POUNDS on Angola to win in the last 15 minutes of the game. Giving him a return of, (wait for it) 44.00. Forty four pounds for a 4,400 POUNDS gamble.
Incredibly Mali come back and draw the game 4-4.

I bet against the 1985 Chicago Bears. A friend of mine got drunk and gave me New England plus 35! The final was 46-10, in case you don't remember back that far. How the hell could anyone lose a 35 point spread? Me, that's who.
Also, it was the last sports bet I ever made. I don't even enter the NCAA pool anymore...
