There are a lot of interesting screen names on this site ( Fsmack, Binary Jester, Pendragon to name a few) and me being the inquisitive bastard I am would like to know the story behind if one was so inclined to share. Also this being my 100th post I thought I would start a new thread.

I'll start.

Googoogjoob comes from a Beatles song off the Magical Mystery Tour album titled I Am The Walrus. As a huge fan of the Beatles I have used this screen name for many years.
The "69" in said screen name is there for two reasons:

01. Appearantly "googoogjoob" is a more common screen name than I originally thought so had to add numbers.

02. I am a pervert.

Choppie
04-08-2008, 06:09 PM
Well Choppie stuck after a fight in high school. I was in martial arts most of my young life and when a jock grabbed me in a headlock to show off in front of his friends I planted and chopped upwards into his nether regions...so my friend started quoting "Stand By Me" specifically "the last thing I heard him say was "Chopper, sick balls"" So it started as Chopper, and then everyone started calling me Choppie.

It stuck.

Its funny you should say that... I was watching that this past weekend and I finally figured out where your name came from ahah

My name comes from in high school... When we played basketball my arms are long which makes it hard for anybody to shoot over or pass around. So one of my buddies got mad and started calling me goonarms. And I guess the bitch stuck

EZE123
04-08-2008, 09:29 PM
EZE123 - because my name starts with an E and some black guy I used to know called me "Easy E," no doubt as a goof because I'm pretty much 180-degrees from the original Easy E.

http://img43.imagevenue.com/loc922/th_08110_0500_eazy_e_a_122_922lo.jpg (http://img43.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=08110_0500_eazy_e_a_122_922lo.jpg)

Later I just added 123 so I could use it as a password for something that no longer exists. Now I just use it as a screen name everywhere I go. Simple, compact, and EZ to remember. No pun intended.

Pendragon comes from Uther Pendragon. I am a fan of medieval literature. I started using Pendragon originally while writing music and .nfo filez ;). I have been using that nick so long most of my friends call me Pen.

binary_jester
04-09-2008, 08:27 AM
I use the handle jester quite often. When I go somewhere new, that is usually taken. Being a computer geek and since this is all 1's and 0's anyway, I add the binary to it. It better than being jester10295723094727937.

I'm one of people who know a little about alot of subjects so my buddy used to call me "The Dean" in spanish. The number is a reference to a self- deprecating comment I once said: "I'm so sexually inexperienced that I have to do "67" and work my up to "69." And that nickname stuck too.

sportster

Mine is derived from the city I lived in in the mid-90's. Started using it on Compuserve back then and have stuck with it.

Huggybear
04-09-2008, 04:22 PM
mine's pretty obvious

Starsky and Hutch (for those old enough to remember the original series) had a "contact" on the other side of the law. His name was Huggy Bear. He dressed kind of like a pimp but he was always cool and trustworthy.

He was my favorite character.

When i signed up on this forum i thought i would have to have a number after it but there were so few members here that i could actually just be "Huggybear".

well, I have a younger brother who had come up with the yahoo screen name bigeasy_e and he just thought it was great, so as an older brother.......I had to do it......and been using it for years now....

Striker
04-10-2008, 08:52 AM
Striker because I think when I first came up with it, it was for some video game and I wanted others to think I was a badass... or something equally as stupid.

The numbers for two reasons:
1) Striker is really common, at least it's almost always taken but mostly not an active user
2) 6879 is just easy for me to remember because it's 6 skip over 7 hit 8 then back to 7 skip over 8 and hit 9. Fast to do with two fingers on the top row of numbers.

Someone once asked me if I chose it after the character in the movie Airplane. I didn't, but I might just start saying I did anyway. Sounds better then for a video game.

n8van2
04-10-2008, 11:18 AM
mine is just basically a variation of my name. the story behind the 2 is interesting so i'll tell that.
i started off with just n8van, and used that primarily as an email address, then i created n8van2 to use for a second email because the first one was being spammed so I could use the second one as a personal email. It transformed over time into my primary email address, and I use the 2 now for continuity.

I grew up in a small town and had a cousin in my class at school with the same last name. Our coach (football, baseball, track, PE) had a habit of addressing everyone by their last name. Since I was always taller than my cousin and we are of Scottish heritage, I was always Big Mc and my cousin was Little Mc (I think I came out with the better handle). Anyway, it stuck at least with the kids in my class. It has absolutely nothing to do with the hamburger.

The 63 is because AOL required a number and 63 is a significant number for me.
There, I said it was boring!

what kind of toy was it. I dont remember anything named that :(

steyr
04-21-2008, 05:57 PM
It was a Steyr Mannlicher M95 straight -pull bolt action carbine.
The toy of the moment.
I'd had to hunt down its (totally obsolete) ammo at gun shows (8x56R) in order to be able to shoot it, and found it to be the heaviest kicking of all my rifles.
Can hardly run 5 rounds through it before the kick starts to get to you, and have had more than one fella refuse to take a second shot with it. Helps conserve ammo, mind.
Lotsa fun!

randomhoudini
04-24-2008, 12:26 AM
The Urban Dictionary defines the Houdini as 'A sexual tactic / maneuver. While engaged in sex of the anal and/or doggie style variety, the penetrator pulls out his penile gland, then proceeds to spits onto his partner's back only to create the illusion that he has released his ejaculatories onto their backside. But oh no, that tricky bastard has saved up his love nectar for the immediate instant his partner turns their face to his urethra which is when he lets go of a full blown money shot, and ejaculates all over his partner's face. Then he goes onto laughs blithely. his partner turns their face to his urethra which is when he lets go of a full blown money shot, and ejaculates all over his partner's face. Then he goes onto laughs blithely.'

The notion of such a thing nearly made me lose control of my bladder and I decided to name a band after it. Of course I couldn't just use Houdini so I added random to the front because it sounded better than anything else.So I named my band and secured the email address.

To date we haven't recorded anything.

PantyWho
04-24-2008, 10:24 PM
A year ago I was working on a work related assignment that consisted of finding pictures of girls with cute panties on.. you know the jail-bait type (I work for a porn company). I found thousands of panty pictures and pretty much built a database of online images. I had pink, red, big, small, ugly, weird looking, pretty much any kind of panty you wanted.

After the fourth day of working on the panty project I started dreaming of the dam things… I wish I could say I dreamed about girls making out in their undies, but pretty much all I saw in my dreams were panties… specifically polkadot panties. I mentioned my dreams to a coworker and she named me the panty girl, then somehow my nick name turn in to PantyWho.

I've always been a fan of British comedy/slang/Guy Ritchie/Beatles/Stones/Boddington's....

Rogering is a British slang word for Fucking. So I named my unit Roger.

Brunswick is a term me and my buddy started using to describe a scrotum...and we thought it was hilarious....

When you put the two together you get Roger Brunswick = my Cock and Sac.

The screen name comes from a family event Greg is obviously my name but at my grandparents 50th (their 60th was 2 years ago) anniversary some of my cousins and I were playing the Friends game for some stupid reason, and they gave me the rock star name of Megagreg shortly after that my old e-mail account died so for the last 12 years just about everything has been megagreg1 cause megagreg was taken.

Seeing the big drop off after the 2 first picks is something that worries me so right now im praying for either 1 or 2...that being said from watching both of them in college gotta agree that rose would be a nice peace for riles to really help or slow climb bak to the top...Wrights shown some good progress, Haslem has incredible heart, cook looks promising, dunno about keeping marion(already gna be 30!)and i think we can add some one with the mid level exception(Need size)but i think ull agree when i say this...it starts and ends with Dwyane..if hes healthy and is the wade of old(pre injury) well be fine at the end of the day. We still need some good pieces though

o and btw thank god Ricky's contract is over... hes poison to any team he touches

rev.stacks started as johnnyfat b/c my last name is similar to the spanish word for fat. from there it became johnny fatstacks (back when i had a job where i was making more money than i deserved) and then when i became an ordained minister my friends switched it to rev.stacks

admiral
05-06-2008, 08:10 PM
It all started in college when I was a waste of space. I never had any thoughts or concerns about plans that would be made when we were going out. Everyone started calling me apathetic. Then that kind of morphed into admiral apathy. The admiral was added because I was originally called the chief based on a fire chief's helmet that people thought the head of my penis looked like.

I can't remember what I was thinking when I signed up but somehow it got shortened to admiral.

StorageBag
06-01-2008, 09:37 PM
Well, I hate picking screen names. A few years ago joining some on-line game you of course have to pick one. Well all the ones that I liked and were easy to remember, not only for me but for on-line friends, were taken. I didn't want to have a variation of my real name and I didn't want to have some long ass number attached to it. (ie. Razor1245178) so, after spending way too much time thinking of shit to use I looked down on my computer desk and there it was. A coupon for Ziploc Storage Bags. Well I typed it in and it stuck. I use it now all the time because it is always available.

Sidenote : Same thing happened long time ago when I signed up for the old commodore on-line community (before the WWW) called Q-LINK (anyone remember?) and then I picked SicknTired, cause i was sick and tired of trying to pick one then.

well....I am originally from Massachusetts, so I had a Boston accent, and I'm a white boy, which my CC in Boot Camp decided was amusing since there were only 2 white guys in my company and one got sent home the second day so he called me Boston Cracker, pretty soon that got shortened to Cracker and then the accent was pasted at the end which turned it to Crackah, the two x's come from me being straightedge forever ago, no I'm not anymore....and don't give me any of that "if you're not now, you never were" bullshit, it was my old username that my Navy buddies remembered so I just kept it.

doubledip
06-02-2008, 10:55 AM

I'm REAL original here going with adding Mrs. to the hubby's screen name. Normally, I use a variation of my real name. Or rather a shortened version from when my best friend's niece was learning to talk. OMG she is 16 now...hard to believe I've been answering to my normal nickname that long. But, for here I decided not to use it. Plus, doin a google search of it can lead to a woman who is a dominatrix, a minor league of some sort hockey player and some musician and me of course. And then too people think I am male when I use it. Didn't want (not that there's anything wrong with it) people thinking BC was married to a guy. So I'm the Mrs. So very original I don't know what I'll do next. Life on the edge huh?

When I was a young kid, back at the tender age of 14, and in 9th grade, I was big into wrestling (like everyone pretty much was back then) and I did nerdy e-wrestling, which is silly rtole playing shit online. Gallow was my fake wrestler's name.

The 737 stems from my favorite band, The Mighty Mighty BossToneS. 737 used to be their PO Box number where they received fan mail back in their earlier years. It became apart of their identity as a band.

gallow737 later became an email address that I still use to this day. So I've never shaken the whole gallow737 thing.

And that is the incredibly nerdy story of my screen name.

For years in the Marines I spent 16 hours a day kicking down doors, breaching shotgun in hand. To make sure that when we shot a door hinge (or a raghead, there's not much difference to top brass) there wouldn't be anything left, we used a combination of hard-recoiling 00 buckshot and supermagnum slugs. These things hit your shoulder harder than they hit the damn door, and all you could really do was shut your eyes and hang on for the ride. They called us shotgun jockeys for this reason. However, since Shotgun Jockey conjures up the image of some hilljack from Wes' Virginny wanking his gun because his sister has a headache, I decided to shorten it to Shotgunner.

The 737 comes form my favorite band, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Their original mailing address number was 737 and it became an iconic number to the band and their fans, and was even the name of one of their songs (737/Shoe Glue). Symbolizes my favorite band.

I will have to pull up the picture of me and 2 other guys from the gWe posing with Tracii Guns last year.

I had so many screen names that I was starting to forget who I was where so I decided to get simple. RDC is, of course, my initials. I looked around the room to find something to add that was easy to remember and I saw a calendar on the wall from, well, the year 2007. Simple, really. Boring, really.

I'm a goalie so I'm the last thing keeping the puck from the net... aka the last line of defense. Actually came from a ball coach who knew I was a goalie when I got barreled over by a runner trying to take home and still held on. Didn't really see it coming since it was supposed to be slide or avoid.

mine is also wrestling related. I was in a backyard wrestling thingy when i was young (trampolines and ladders pretty much) and we wanted to have an All-American hero type guy. Well my real name is pat so I came up with Pat Riot bc when put together its....Patriot. Clever so it kinda stuck.

My screen name comes from the most amazing dog that ever lived. There was a time in my life that I probably would have offed myself if it weren’t for that dog. I used to tell him to sit all the time hence, jakesit. We bought a house about 3 years ago and I was fixing it up and he was scared of power tools and he got out somehow. I never saw him again. I went out looking for him every day and night for a month and never found him. I was near catatonic for the next year and still think about him 10 times a day. I will never get over losing that dog. The screen name is just my way of remembering him.

That was the real bitch. We got a dog from the San Francisco SPCA. His name was Shamus, the nicest mellowest dog you could ever meet. He was a Katrina dog. He was cured of heart worm and pneumonia before we got him. Then it turns out that he had a sinus infection from all the shit going around from Katrina. We took him to a specialist and spent $5,000 trying to save him, he never made it. He had about a year and a half with us which I was happy about because if they had found out about it before we adopted him he would have spent his last year or so without a home. I went back to the SF SPCA about half way through the whole ordeal and asked them to help and they basically told me to go get fucked. So FUCK them.

We got a Border Collie mix dog from a rescue place in northern California about a year or so ago and she is awesome with our little dog. She is in perfect health thank god.

Now that I changed mine (this site is a lot cooler than I thought at first, and I plan on sticking around), I guess I owe another explaination. Kyle E. Coyote is a play on Wile E. Coyote. One of my dad's old frat buddies gave me that nickname as a kid and it's stuck. Family, friends, everyone I've known for the last twenty years has called me Kyle E. Coyote.

im not sure if i had posted in this a while ago or not, but here it is.

when i was in school i used to shave my head everyonce and a while and sometimes would go a year shaving my head, and i strated getting called Buzz or some buddies called me The Golden Child bc in summertime i tan up real good and kinda looked like an older version. then my cousin and friends started calling me versions of Buzz, kinda like the SNL skit with Rob Schnieder.
and one of the names they used was Buzard, and it kinda stuck and it reminds me of my luck (i get whats left of the luck, kinda like a buzzard gets whats left of the animals in the wild) and 69 was just a number i had used a long time ago and oddly enough there are a few buzard in things where u sign up so i needed a number and like a punk i used 69. better than a 68

How did a Katrina dog end up on the left coast? Did some one drive hem there? Cause if my tax money paid to have a stray dog that could have been adopted close to home shipped off to Cali on an airplane that I can't afford a ticked for, I am gonna be a little unsettled!

unless the dog was sipping champagne and eating caviar up in first class then i think it's money well spent. it probably only cost the airline about $5 a dog to ship em out in cargo. his dog and i'm sure many others found good homes, so whats the problem?

DSF Guest 3

My problem??

There are not enough stray pets that need adoption in the mid coastal California section that need adopted that they have to ship in pets from other regions??

And is there proof that said dog was a Katrina refugee? Or was that some sob story that the people at the Shelter spewed out to get them adopted?

Don't get me wrong, I am all for taking in strays, I have to fight with Mrs. BC some of the time on that.

But, to think that Katrina pets made it halfway across the country just to be stuck in a shelter is a bit to much for me to buy.

Mine came about one night when my friends and I were all playing Age of Empires. It was everyman for himself and when I defeat 2 enemies that vastly outnumbered me, but didn't have as many advancements, I proclaimed that only Caesar himself could have pulled off as great a victory ( I was a history major). So after a few hrs of making my friends call me Caesar as I kicked their ass in the game and much gloating, the name kind of stuck. the 273 is because of Yahoo and needing the number. The 2 as in Caesar the second, and the 73 is the year I was born. And yes, I am a total geek!

Actually i can tell you where it came from ... or at least how it got popular.

Snoop Dogg's album Doggystyle (at least thats where it took off in pop culture)

He started using it a lot. Basically it is a pig Latin. Take all words and insert IZ in there. On Doggystyle Snoop says "Nine trIZey is the yIZear for me to fuck up shit."

That translates to Nine trey (three) is the YEAR for me to fuck up shit.

Later Snoop really popularized it by going overboard with all the FO Shizzle My Nizzle stuff. All that is based in a more exaggerated version of the same pig latin.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO

In honor of Nachos I am bumping this thread. :D

My screen name comes from a character in The Legend of Zelda Links Awakening on Game Boy Color. Madam Meow-Meow intrigued me greatly. She had pet chain chops and let link borrow one to access a dungeon!

That year, I was given a cute little gray kitten. I knew when I saw her that I had to name her Madam Meow-Meow (MewMew for short). So in honor of that character and my beloved pet, who is 10 years old now, I have used this name for the vast majority of my handles ever since.

Fort Stewart? I went through Avionics school in the Air Force. Got to work and fly on some of the coolest planes in the world. Got drunk at the NCO club and a bunch of Warrant Officers almost had me talked into cross-service to enter helicopter pilot school. My school was the same way. You tested every 2 weeks for 10 months. If you fail on Thursday you retest on Friday. If you fail again, you start the ENTIRE MOS School from day one again :( .
Fail again and you get re-classed as a cook or clerk somewhere.

They only ALLOW the top 3% GT scores to APPLY for Avionics in the Army so getting to go is a really big deal. To washout and re-class is devastating. I knew of 5 soldiers who killed themselves by jumping off the roofs of their barracks because instead of nice cushy jobs with plenty of advancement, they would have to spend the next 5 years working in the motorpool in Korea.

Nothing exciting with mine. I made it up when I was a kid playing D&D. I've used it for a computer ID since getting on to college dial-in services in the late 70's when we had a Commodore PET and an acoustic 50baud modem. Kept it all through the years. I've used it on hundreds of dial-in BBS's, online services, free email hosts, msg boards even on dejanews pretty heavily and felt it sucked eggs when google forced them to merge.

Only cool thing is I got to play in a game Gygax himself was DM'ing and he looked at me, that goofy looking eight year old hanging with teenagers (two older brothers and other teens) and at my character sheet and said "Cool name. Do you know who Strom Thrumond is?" I had no clue who he was talking about.

The Class Six store would make a sane man reenlist. When I was stationed in Okinawa, we had 3 typhoons come through. When we hit Typhoon Condition 2, it meant we were getting hit. Everyone sent a delegate to the Class Six store to stock up because we'd be locked in the dorms or someone's house until it was over. If you got to the Class Six store too late, you would be staring at an empty cooler and 3 bottles of Plum Schnapps.

I thought I died and went to heaven first time I went in the one at Ft. Gordon. 40oz's of Old English sold for like $1.50 or something really fucking cheap (It was the mid 90's). Funny how even though I was drinking my ass off every night after final formation, all the PT in the morning and during the day at AIT with the D.S.'s fucking with us, I was still in perfect physical condition.

We went to Tobyhanna, PA for our summer camp one year and went through a drive through liquor store in the Government van. Dude in front of us was buying 3 kegs and they were wheeling them out to his truck like he was at McDonalds.

Mine is obviously my name, but there is a story behind that.
My mom worked at 3M in the 70's, on an assembly line. I think she must have been a quality checker of disks, or whatever was coming down the line.
When a defective product came down the line, she yelled out MARK!

I guess my parents considered me defective goods.

I use Phalapatate as a screen name sometimes. Don't remember the exact story behind that one, but I do remember sitting in a Chili's about 10 years ago and telling a funny story about a dog with its head hanging out the window of a car going down the highway. One of the girls that I was there with was laughing about the dogs tongue falapatating in the wind. I have no clue where she came up with that, but we wrote it down on a coaster after we changed the spelling. Still have the coaster. Can't see the phalapatate written in a pink ink pen anymore though.

Let me trim it down for you a little then: FU

fuck you

Also get fucked; go fuck yourself. A curse meaning "go to hell." For example, Fuck you, go get your own dinner! or Get out of here, get fucked! or, as John Dos Passos had it in 1919 (1931): "Joe got sore and told him to go fuck himself." The first and third of these vulgar curses date from the late 1800s, and the second from about 1950.

When I first got married, we struggled with money. In order to have a phone, we had the long distance blocked on our phone. If we needed to call someone, we used to call collect. It became a running joke that we always said for our name, it's Bobwehadababyitsaboy, from the 1-800-Collect commercials. Then whoever we called would call us back using their money, not ours.
