View Full Version : I am- Trying to stop doing drugs of the day

So I decided that maybe it's time to stop doing all the drugs I do. I am entering myself into rehab Monday. I realize that maybe I should do it sooner than that but I am going to have one last weekend of good times before I decide to give it up. I will no longer be doing anything after that. No drinking, smoking or drugs of any kind. I need to start looking at my family and worry more about them instead of getting high. If it's not to late.

Being sober is boring as hell, but it is the big boy/girl thing to do. I love being wasted but you gotta grow up some time so I've been clean and sober about 3 months now. Best of luck to you.

Rehab is for quitters. Quitters never win and winners never quit. Now, on that note, I do support cutting back on ur habit, but giving it up all together? Shit's weak

Good luck, but "I'm gonna quit after one more weekend" dosen't sound like you really want to quit

Good luck, and do not hide anything on your body...any rehab place worth going to is going to search everywhere!!! Man does that bring back some conflicting feelings in me!!!

Man don't even quit.. Look where crack got Jesus, mushrooms got Joe Rogan and steroids got Chris Benoit.. Drugs are the key to success.. :)

Considering he hasn't been here recently, I'm going to guess his last weekend was a real bender, and/or he didn't make it back. :(

Good luck. I gave up pot on New Years and haven't touched it since.

Straight edge FTW.

I used to love getting wasted (never was much for drugs since around middle school), and I still do on occasion... but family comes first. I wish you all the luck in the world, man. Eyes on the prize, and remember who you're doing this for.

The thing I hate about AA is how they turn it into a God thing and how your future is late nights in coffee shops drinking tons of coffee and smoking packs upon packs of cigarettes talking about the good days when you used to drink with other addicts, because quitting drinking doesn't make anyone happy and is a lot more depressing than drinking your life away.... - Jesus Martinez

That's that "Never Quit" attitude that we all know and Love.

Hell yeah, a bunch of my friends get em. Most of them jobs that require dealing with machinery but I know someone who didn;t get a job a Walbaums because he failed a drug test. So you can't smoke pot to work at a supermarket? How else was he suppose to make it through the day :D

Two people sitting beside me. One drinking alcohol, one smoking (you pick, pot or tobacco, up to you).

Which one is affecting my health?

Rhetorical question: The one smoking. And they're legally doing it.

I smoked pot last, night, I can count on one hand how many times I have smoked pot since high school. We did buckets. It made me tired and thirsty. Which reminded me of work. Then I got pissed off, cause work pays me way more than smoking pot pays me.

STFU. That is the most retarded shit I have ever heard. It takes a bigger man to admit his problem than to just conform to the masses. Junkie, I commend you on your admission and I wish you the best of luck. Don't let weak minded individuals like this asshole deter you from your goal. But ultimately, you have to do it for yourself not someone else or it will not work for you.

Yes as a manager of a privately owned business, I can assure you it is perfectly legal. Basically when you clock into work for the first time or in some cases submit your resume or application, you enter into a contract with that employer. Make sure you ask up front their testing policies but don't be surprised if it raises suspicions with them. I have made several employees submit to random tests from time to time. They were told up front our policy and when one was fired he tried to stir the shit pot but he failed.

If you are serious about quitting then do it now. The one last time is total bullshit! Another thing don't make it seem like you are giving up happiness, once you get straight you find that life is a zillion times better straight or sober than fucked up.

I'm an Alcoholic- Heroin addict straight and sober 6 wonderful years. I promise you if you really want to get straight you will do but if you aren't ready don't waste your time or clog up a bed in rehab.
If you are ready then do it now not later.

God bless and the best
Bovi

Congratulations, this thread is almost two years old. If you had posted this then, he might still be alive today. It's all your fault.

This would be my vote for post of the day....had it not served as a painful reminder of the OP's tragic end. I know we're all just playing internet here...but that shit was sad. RIP dude!
